UNC’s Teaching 美国手语 文学硕士 program offers a state-of-the-art curriculum based on the newest research with input from national experts in the field of ASL, 和 incorporates st和ards from the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages. You’ll learn from nationally recognized instructional staff that includes both native 和 non-native ASL users 和 will gain valuable real-work preparation through extensive field-based learning experiences that includes hundreds of hours of student teaching 和观察.
You will earn your Teaching 美国手语 master's from UNC in five consecutive semesters through a primarily online format with on-campus summer sessions in Greeley, 科罗拉多州. This program provides you with the pedagogical coursework necessary to teach ASL as a modern/foreign language; not learning or mastering ASL. 你会证明 your ASL proficiency prior to being accepted into the program.

Complete coursework equipping you to effectively teach ASL as a modern/foreign language in a variety of roles to various age groups in different settings with an focus on 成人学习者. This track is approved by the 科罗拉多州 Department of Higher Education.
美国手语教学硕士: World Languages (K-12)
This degree equips you to effectively teach ASL as a modern/foreign language, from kindergarten through high school settings 和 beyond. The degree includes teacher licensure with K-12 endorsement in ASL 和 World Languages to meet state-m和ated requirements to be a licensed educator 在科罗拉多州. Your 科罗拉多州 state teaching license may be accepted by other states. This track is approved by the 科罗拉多州 Department of Higher Education 和 the College Department of Education.
